Heat Wave / Mutual Commute is the debut release by Naarm/Melbourne artist Skinny Wizard. Over the last year, Skinny Wizard has become a buzzing new energy in the live electronic music scene, and with this release he brings his unique heavy analogue house beats off the d floors and into your stereo systems to be enjoyed by your ears, eyes and body.

Heat Wave’s atmospheric introduction opens up to a synth and drum machine led groove, where catchy bass lines interweave through organic Rhodes melodies to create a distinctive harmonic groove where movement seems immediate, necessary.

Mutual Commute feature a more left field groove that constantly develops and builds through the piece with added synth arpeggios and metallic percussive stabs, eventually reaching a dark and gritty climax.

In this release, Skinny Wizard draws on the sounds of many current local dance musicians with the aim of building on the ever-evolving Melbourne electronic music scene.
